Sporting Clubs
Sporting Clubs are a great place for young and young at heart people to find physical fitness, social connection and inclusion in community.
Sporting Clubs are very similar in their vulnerability to Alcohol and other Drug use as other workplaces, with many sporting clubs having licensed bars this can create a higher level of risk. Sporting clubs as workplaces have a duty of care to their players, members, employees and communities in this area.
#NotEvenOnce® Sporting Club Projects are designed to build awareness of AOD related issues, foster accountability in terms of role modeling and to challenge some of the cultural aspects of club life that may negatively impact young players.
#NotEvenOnce® Sporting Club Projects partner with Sporting Clubs and organisations to assist as an external specialist in this field, providing peace of mind that you and your organisation are taking proactive steps to protect your employees and company.
They also provide training to staff to recognise signs, appropriate steps to take, raise awareness and offer assistance pathways through our Teen Challenge Day and Residential Rehabilitation programs to refer and support staff through recovery from their AOD issues.
Club Coach Testimonials
"I would like to congratulate everybody in your organisation on making a difference and the fantastic results thus far. I am the current coach of the Latrobe U14 Boys Team. I have heard nothing but fantastic Feedback from the presentation night at the Devonport Football Club and Darcy's story. Everybody I have spoken to was touched, moved and most importantly better educated at the conclusion of the night. I would like to be proactive on this and try to arrange a similar evening at our club."
"The evening was truly incredible with the concentration and questions from the children and adults a true reflection of just how well received the program was. The message was put across in both an educational way but also had a real human element to it with Darcy's story."
Club Coach Testimonials
“This (the seminar) made us realise the importance of the senior people at the club and the influence they have as role models to our youth. We then asked Tanya if she could do a program for our senior men, women and all staff at the club. What followed was the most talked about thing at our football club in years. It was intense, extremely honest, confronting and most importantly set some rules and boundaries for all involved. It educated the younger adults on what to expect and reiterated to the senior people what is expected and why. As a result our club is now reviewing many of its policies and procedures moving forward.”
Parent Testimonials
"Following your presentation at our club, I sat with my son and we talked for over two hours about the presentation and discussed topics around Drugs and Alcohol in a way that we have never talked before. Thank you so much for coming to see us, it educated me as much as it educated my son."
"I can't say how much I as a parent appreciated the presentation tonight and from the buzz around the room and speaking to other parents, they got something out of it too!"
