All films (including student-made short ones) need to meet legal requirements in the areas of copyright and consent. You may need to obtain permission to film certain people or places for your project, or from a copyright owner whose work appears in your production.
The Arts Law Centre of Australia has some important and useful information about copyright, consent and other legal considerations for filmmakers. To make things a bit easier for you, we’ve sourced some samples of consent, waiver and permission forms that you may need to use for your project (depending on who and what is in your film!)
