NotEvenOnce CEO Schools Vaping Info and Q&A
February, 23rd - 2 Sessions to choose from
It’s a very challenging world for our young people and for schools there is already so much pressure on many areas to stay abreast of the latest issues and trends. Nothing is more true than in the Alcohol & other Drug (AOD) space. It changes constantly and the latest Vaping wave amongst our young people is a perfect example of confusing misinformation or in fact limited information.
Last year we commenced running our information sessions aimed to help inform School staff about Vaping legalities, devices, contents, health impacts and myths. In our first offering we held a morning and afternoon session. 58 school staff registered for the morning session and the afternoon session had 25 registered. 48 people joined the first morning session and our inbox exploded post session with afternoon registrations jumping to 98. Here's a few comments from participants:
"Enjoyed the delivery and content - presenter obviously has a wealth of knowledge. Concise, informative and interesting" Teacher
"Thoroughly enjoyed the presentation & way you presented it. It was one of those presentations that I could have listened to for much longer than the hour." School Psychologist
"Very well presented and informative. I would recommend this webinar to everyone!" Administration Leader
"Tanya spoke really well, with a good mixture of facts and statistics, as well as visuals." Lead Teacher
We are commencing 2022 with more information seminars for School staff on this topic to start the year off. Our first Webinar will be like last years, however updated with the latest data & statisicts. We will then introduce Webinars inviting other experts to join the conversation with School staff in helping in step beyond knowledge & understanding to prevention & action within school communities.
NotEvenOnce Projects have been supporting Australian Schools since 2015 and to date have delivered to 60,796 students. Our program outcomes have been evalauted by Western Sydney University and shown to positvely impact the Cognitive and Affective Domains in this space.
Our incursions are available in-person and virtually and are designed to be interactive with students.
However we understand its difficult to know what is included, presentations, topics, age groups and more so we felt it would be a great time, especially now as many schools are again facing challenges with Covid to provide an information and Q&A session with our CEO, Tanya Cavanagh. In addition to NotEvenOnce Projects, Tanya heads up Teen Challenge Tasmania and works in helping people in addiction to exit that lifestyle. She works coal face with young people everyday in this area and is very passionate about prevention.
During this session Tanya will address some of the Vaping myths and deceptive nature of the Vaping industry. Even if you and your team decide not to have NotEvenOnce Projects within your school, we hope this session will give you some insight into this area that we have only just glimpsed the tip of the iceberg in relation to vaping and our young people.
